  1. Vaccinate

Another highly important task is to ensure your cat is up to date with all of the necessary vaccinations. This will protect your cat from common and deadly diseases.

  1. De-Sex

This point is not only important for your cat but for the cat population in general. There are a variety of health benefits involved your cat including eliminating the chance of contracting a reproductive organ disease. It will also prevent any unwanted litters ending up in shelters, which are already taking in more than they can home.

Not only do fleas, mites and worms cause discomfort, they can also pose long term health risks from passing on deadly diseases.

  1. Regular Vet Checks

It is important to keep a close eye on your cat’s health, with daily home checks. But there are some things better left to the vet. Your vet will be able to have a thorough check and deal with any issues before they become serious. Keep up with regular vet checks and see your vet as soon as you notice something unfamiliar.

  1. Cat-proof the House

Make sure your cat is safe to roam around the house, free from any danger. Cats love to squeeze into strange places so keep any electrical cords or toxic products well protected and out of sight. If you have an indoor cat, keep the house well secured to prevent any escapes.
