5 Similarities between Parrots and Toddlers

April 11th, 2019

Parrots make wonderful pets as they are full of charm and can be very entertaining. But at times, they can also be a bit of a nightmare. Here’s a list of how having a pet Parrot can be like looking after a toddler.

  1. The Tantrums

Oh, the tantrums! During certain seasons, the meltdowns are like nothing else. There is nothing you can do but hope that it ends soon and doesn’t annoy the neighbours too much.

  1. The Mess

Parrots definitely know how to make a mess. Parrots love to explore, especially with their beaks. Leaving a trail of destruction everywhere they go for you to clean up. Forget owning anything nice, because it will soon turn to shreds.

  1. Sleepless Nights

Once awoken in the night, you can kiss the rest of your night’s sleep goodbye, because they are up, and they DON’T want to go back to bed.

  1. Constant Companion

Want a nice, relaxing bath on your own? Think again. Need a quick minute to yourself on the toilet? No chance. Your parrot will be at your side every second they can. So forget your ‘me time’.

  1. Think they know best!

If a parrot wants to do something, they are going to do it! So don’t bother trying to stop them.

Parrots can be quite a handful at times so make sure you are prepared to give them the care and attention they need. But all jokes aside, Parrots are a joy to have as a companion and will bring lots of happiness when looked after properly.
